The Chlorosulfonic Acid is used in the production of chemical intermediates (Chlorosulfonation).

In contact with air CS Acid reacts with the air humidity and forms an aggressive fog of Hydrochloric Acid and Sulphuric Acid which means that contact with air has to be prevented at all times. This can be achieved by using magnetic coupled pumps.

The Hexane is used for the extraction of the oil from the rape seed.

After mechanical and thermal pretreatment of the oil seeds, the oil is extracted and separated from the meal by means of a solvent (Hexane). The solvent is then removed from the oil and recovered by distillation. The oil is degummed and refined. The solvent contained in the meal is evaporated by thermal treatment in a “desolventizer toaster”, followed by meal drying and cooling. All common oilseeds, such as soybeans, rape seed, sunflower seeds, sesame and peanuts can be used as feedstock. After distillative separation of the solvent, the raw oil product is upgraded to edible oil by degumming and physical refining. It can also be applied as feedstock for the production of fatty acids and methyl ester. The meal is used for animal feed.
